November 2008

So, not doing much these days except trying to enjoy the last nice days of fall:

Nothing to add really, except yikes! She could stare down a Mack truck. I think we're all in big trouble. If you look closely, you'll see she's practicing conducting with her dad's baton.

Whoa Nelly!

How did this happen?
I was just clicking away with the digital camera one morning, and shazam! (click on image to enlarge)

She looks way more rested than we do. Months of working opposite shifts to avoid the hideous option of day care has got us run pretty ragged. As you can tell by the chaotic backgrounds in most of our shots.

Hibernating

I don't flatter myself that anyone actually reads this blog, since there's really nothing to it these days, but in case you do wander by, I have posted these latest pix.

The past couple of months (December to mid-March) have been a blizzard of overwork and dealing with terminal illness/death of a parent. If it wasn't for our child I'd have had no sense of purpose or future. (It's hard on us world'y cynics, but all those cliches about how having a child transforms you and your perceptions of life, the universe, and everything turn out to be true.)

Hopefully this cruel winter is going to thaw into a lovely spring and we can resume relations with the rest of our loved ones and the world in general.

Winsome

I don't really have much to say at this point. Still digging out, both at work and at home, from the Scylla and Charybdis of the winter break (even more to do vs. regular operating procedures are suspended so less can get done). But I wanted to get this picture up because it shows that one of us, at least, is feeling ready to tackle the New Year. Best wishes for 2008!
